I had the pleasure of delivering a training on Digital Workflow last week with Margie Brown and Lisa Johnson. The session was attended by teachers who were mostly from Elementary and Middle School. We had classroom teachers, collaborative teachers, art teachers, Spanish teachers and more!
When we met in May to start the planning process for this workshop, we settled on a Carnival Theme and once we made that decision, we committed to it completely from snacks to decorations.

We started the day with Lisa sharing a Tricider with the group which gathered information on the participants' impressions of their current workflow solutions. You can find the link to the Tricider in the Thinglink below.
We then moved into a whole group overview of some basic tools for workflow: iFiles, Gmail, eBackpack, and Atlas/Apollo.
After lunch, we did our own version of the APPmazing Race. Carl Hooker and Lisa had originated this concept for iPadpalooza last year. The idea is that a group of teachers are given app based challenges and a certain amount of time to complete those challenges. I explained to our group that for our purposes, this would not be so much of a race as a means of learning/exploring other options for digital workflow. Our groups were asked to place their artifacts from the race on a Padlet. The Padlet URL would then be shared with us via a Google Form. We matched the participants up so that each pair consisted of a strong tech user and someone who was a little more tech hesitant. I encouraged the pairs to begin with the apps that they didn't know very well so that if they ran out of time, they would walk away with some new knowledge. Here are the apps that we used: Ignite Teaching, Nearpod, Kahoot, Google Forms, and Explain Everything. This approach ensured that a whole lot of learning went on that afternoon and a good time was had by all.
For their Exit Ticket that afternoon, teachers used Class Kick to draw a picture of their big takeaway from the day.
