Spent a great day today with Tim, Margie and an amazing group of teachers K=12 taking a look at the new Mac operating system. Here are some of the highlights of the day. Yosemite is the 10th generation of the mac operating system.

Tips:
Tip: managing groups of files...select all >File>New Folder with selected items
Tip: To set up Trackpad>System Preferences>Trackpad
Tip: F3 on the keyboard turns no Mission Control
Tip: Preferences>Display>Arrangement> no mirror will allow a different screen on projector than what is on your computer
Tip: Quicktime will make a movie using your computer. File>New Movie Recording. It also does audio recordings and screen recordings. You can trim the video within Quicktime.
Tip: With new iPad or iPhone (need lightning adaptor) can connect to computer and use quicktime to show/record what is on those screens - choose new movie recording

Shift, Command, 3: full screen
Screen Ratio settings:
1. connect your dongle to AV, go to system preferences, click on displays, you will see windows for both internal and external outputs.
2. change resolution, click on display, the brand new projectors use 1280x800 and higher the old projectors use 1024x768
or click through the resolutions until you have one that works
